Bernie’s last creation – the Bultaco powered GRM. He never was much for the modern side of trials, so he decided to build a vintage bike. He got a replica frame from Bill Grapevine, a rebuilt motor from Bob Ginder and some help with exhaust and other things from Dick Oliver. I don’t know much about the bike, but I know it works well. The rigid frame with the pegs mounted so far to the rear make it very agile and maneuverable in the sections. It does get a bit bumpy on the loop though.
Notice the signature of Bill Grapevine on the gas tank on the following pic…
I am in the process of putting a new carburetor on the bike. I don’t know if it will help or not, but I have a problem with overheating on hills. I had to make a new manifold to mount the carburetor – that is where Blazing Technologies, Inc. comes into play. That is the company I work for and am also part owner of. We have the ability to make custom parts and weldments from steel or aluminum.
Here is a pic showing the new carburetor in place of the old, with the old manifold.
Following are pictures showing the progression of the new manifold being built.
